  The staff was amazing and very welcoming. They upgraded our room to a suite. They gave us 2 free beers from a brewery / restaurant that they recommend. (The restaurant was awesome as well.) The also told us about local attractions that were a hit. The rooms were clean. I would most definitely recommend this place!

  Positive: Check in was easy & quick. Both rooms we had were clean & nice. Weekend breakfast was pretty good. Housekeeping staff was very pleasant & helpful. Negative: We actually stayed for 4 nights. Staff at check in was nice. We did have to wait until like 5:30 because they didn't have any rooms clean. Both weekdays that we were there - the breakfast offered was not plentiful & the hot foods were leftovers & not good

  The location is hard to beat! 8 mins from airport, 5 min from downtown and I-94. Just across the street, supermarket, liquor store (hotel has no bar), shopping mall & Lucky 13 restaurant. Staff is super friendly, quick to respond to requests (extra pillows), complementary chocolate chip cookies at the desk, and superb breakfast buffet with a high-end cereals, bread, two hot serves: egg dish (changes daily: omelets, scramble with cheese and ham), a ham, sausage & bacon one. Great make your own waffles and dinning room spotless! Great coffee too. While building corridors have seen better days it’s overall very good and I highly recommend it!

  Worst reception staff in all my years of travel. The person who checked us in should not be anywhere near the hospitality industry. No check-in protocol, no smile (even from under the mask), not at all pleasant. It was an inconvenience that I showed up and asked for a room. Room cleanliness leaves much to be desired. I found trash in the dresser drawers and there was a trash bag tied around the smoke detector. Clearly, prior guests had been smoking in the room. There was no obvious smell, so who knows how long that bag had been there. I didn't bother calling the front desk, because I didn't want to deal with the rude staff. Friday night bonus: The dumpster on the west side of the building is picked up around 2:30 a.m. and the driver REALLY likes to make sure it's empty before he leaves. The dumpster was smashed against the truck at least a dozen times. More than enough to wake me up, along with my wife and one of my two children. Pool is the most economy-hotel pool of all time. Not great for small kids. No jacuzzi. Breakfast is a joke. Yes, these are unprecedented times. However, the selection was disgusting pastries, bananas, fake milk, and yogurt. It should be a crime that they're allowed to advertise free breakfast. The good news is I've now forever sworn off economy hotels. The bad news is, these kinds of places used to provide great service.

  Jeff at the front desk was one of the best I have encountered! He was thoughtful and courteous. He answered all of our questions during our stay, and was able to assure me that everything was in order with my previous cancellation, so glad we stayed there, and Jeff certainly deserves some recognition for a job well done!

  This is our "go to hotel" in Bismarck.. this time was disappointing. Pool was unavailable but was filled and looked like it was working. Room was not fully clean.. sticky floor and mildew in shower. Correct bed linens and pillows were unavailable for the pull-out couch. There were two men's softball teams at the hotel. One group was out in the parking lot tailgating and the other one was in the lobby. Both groups were loud and clearly alcohol played a part of it. Evening manager was kind and helpful considering everything. The desk attendant the next morning was not at her post.. rather she was outside smoking. So service was not top-notch. We will be reconsidering our accommodations from here on out.

  Staff was very friendly and helpful, great location for our stay, close to lots of things, lobby and breakfast area very clean and inviting. Couple issues, nothing serious: microwave in room didn't work, A/C only cool at constant 63 degrees, dirty pillow case missed behind the dresser, and wet boob marks on the inside of the elevator door all weekend.

  Upon check in my ID was never checked, my credit card verified, or given paperwork to confirm room charges. Very limited breakfast choices. 2nd night we arrived back to find our room key not working. Went to front desk for help. No one there. Searched hotel and found no one. Had tried calling the number posted, phone rang but never answered. Ended up calling corporate office. They tried calling the hotel. They ended up calling a manager. More than 30 minutes passed before the employee showed up. Same guy as the night before, no name tag no uniform. He made an excuse he lost the phone. No apology nothing. Literally asked what I wanted. Very unprofessional.

  The room decor is dated. The lobby has been updated and is nice. My biggest issue was not receiving the room I reserved. I reserved a King Suite because my husband and I enjoy having a seating area when traveling. When we arrived to check in we were greeted by a bell to ring. Check in seemed to go smoothly once the desk staff member appeared. We went up to our room to discover we had a standard room with 2 queen beds. So, we returned to the front desk and rang the bell again. The pleasant young woman apologized and said that the manager had downgraded our room but gave us extra points to compensate. Really? She also apologized because she said typically the manager leaves her a note when this happens but there was only a notation on the computer. This leads me to believe this happens at this hotel often. I was told there were no other rooms available. We were tired from traveling and hungry so kept the room rather than changing to a different hotel. The room itself was comfortable enough. The bathroom was clean. I will never stay at this hotel again. When I travel I want to be confident I will receive the room I reserved.

  Stopped in Bismarck for an early morning flight and stayed here. The first room we were given was still dirty from the guests the prior night. No housekeeping was done. The second room given was decent. The indoor pool was closed without notice on website or by the front desk clerk while checking in. The pool was a main reason we stayed at the hotel. The front desk staff wears casual clothes and hangs out in the lobby which makes it difficult to know who is an employee or guest. However, the girl that was doing breakfast in the morning was wearing a uniform or nice outfit with a name tag and was very friendly. She was constantly working and checking temps on the food which was nice to observe. I would say if your just passing through and need a place to crash for a short night it would be ok.

  We were staying over as part of a group for a BB tournament. The rooms were clean and the fact that there was free wifi was a plus. I also liked that the room had multiple plug in areas to charge up phones, i-pods etc. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Our girls used the pool, and although a bit small, they had fun. I used the fitness center and enjoyed having both the option for head phones or TV. Breakfast in the morning was very nice with choice of cereals, oatmeal, waffles and scrambled eggs and sausages. Fruit and breads were available as well. Nice variety! We would definitely stay there again.

  The front desk staff was very helpful in attempting to fix all issues but the maintenance person did not fulfill their duties and that made an impact on my stay. No hot tub is a bad thing because I really like to have one before bed when I'm away from home. Previous times at this same hotel have been good.

  The overall stay was very good, the last time I stayed at this hotel it was a nightmare due to some punk kids and their cars at the gas station next-door. This stay was peaceful and relaxing, I couldn't get my room to stay at a comfortable level, it was either too cold or too hot. This hotel has kind of a small parking lot but the location it great. The check in desk was fast, the lady was very polite. I would and will book here again.

Upon arrival we noted that my husband had forgotten his razor & it was very nice that we were able to get another razor at the front desk.   We had never stayed at the Bismarck Fairfield Inn South and didn't know what to expect. Any expectations we had were blown out of the water. The front desk staff was pleasant and quick to help us. The hotel looks to have been recently renovated and everything seemed immaculately clean and well taken care of. There is a fireplace in the lobby and 24-hour coffee bar. The breakfast options were plentiful and varied and the attendant was extremely helpful and sociable.

They also had a plant in their room from the hotel congratulating them on their wedding! I left a cell phone charger when we checked out - I called when we got home and Whitney went to our room and found it, she called me back right away and said it would be at the front desk for me to pick up. The breakfast was great and the staff very attentive, I didn't catch her name but she was so nice. Michelle, you made sure that we didn't have to mess with our room key when we were unloading our vehicle after the celebration - it was midnight, we were tired and probably a bit crabby and you were so accommodating to us.   Well, if there was a nice tropical beach outside, this would be heaven. It's by far the nicest room we ever stayed in. The lighting is wonderful, with dimmers for the halogen spotlights above the TV and the bed. It gives this room a warm feeling very welcome after a day of shopping (wife) and geocaching (me). Nice flat screen TV, but didn't use it as we were exhausted after a long day. We fell asleep very quick in the comfortable bed, and my wife was even drooling before I fell asleep! The room arrangement makes it feel more like a small apartment. Computer desk with adjustable desk lamp and power outlet, small couch and table. There's even a small iHome stereo system, which I re-arrange at the end of the best, so we could listen to some soothing music while we fell asleep, just like at home!! No little bedside speaker, or cellphone speaker; a mini subwoofer and 2 satellite speakers! Now, that tops the sundae! We are staying at the same hotel brand and name in Minot tonight, but this Bismarck hotel raised the bar really high!

  The hotel is clean and nice, breakfast is good and staff was nice. However the point of my review is to let whomever reads this, Check and make sure, get proof of the nightly rate! I never, never book a hotel if it is over $150.00 per night and when i called to book this I was told i was getting the Military Rate. Not only did i not get a military rate on my bill after my stay, I was charged $199.00 per night! This hotel was nice, but it is definitely not worth 199 per night. I have stayed in hotels for business in down town New York for less than $150.00!

  Our stay at the Fairfield Inn was awesome. The room was great and clean and I absolutely love the ability to use our netflix on the television. It was so easy and it helped us to unwind by watching our shows on our time. I downloaded the app and it worked really well and I will use it for our future travel.

  Hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly, the manage however puts sports teams with kids on the top floor and the staff is not trained/authorized to effectively remedy the issue. I didn’t sleep 6 hours in two nights due to kids screaming in the hallway and the issues was not resolved after repeated complaints to staff.

  Terrible experience. The hotel itself is rundown and the staff knows nothing about where anything is or how to help. My in-laws and I traveled to Bismarck, ND. I had booked this room with the understanding that it would sleep 5. (as stated in the description) I even called and confirmed that it would. The receptionist confirmed that they would have a foldout bed for us. When we got there on the 20th of April, I asked to make sure there was the extra fold out bed. The front desk person said they only have one and it was being used already... He said they did have another but it broke in two. We told him that this was unacceptable, he offered us a couple extra blankets and said one of us could sleep on the floor...We ended up having to sleep, or try to sleep with 3 people in 1 queen sized bed and two on the other. So embarrassing for me. I asked several times to speak to a manager the next morning. The front desk person said they don't know when he will be in, but she would have him call me as soon as they did. It is now April, 23 and I have still not received a call.

The breakfast was outstanding and Lavone (breakfast prep person) was incredibly accommodating and helpful. The place was always clean and the lobby stayed spotless (not easy to do in Bismarck in February with people tracking in snow/slush). The price was competitive. I will go out of my way to stay there again next time ! I would give 6 stars if I could.

  I stayed three nights in the Fairfield Bismarck South. The hotel was well-maintained and clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The location is great, just a few minutes from the airport and I-94. I could here some road noise from my room, but it didn't keep me from sleeping well -- the bed is super comfy. I would definitely stay here again.

  I was quite upset abot the room that was given to me. Upon reservation, I requested a quiet room location. Instead, I was given a room that has a continues vibrating noise downstairs, maybe a mechanical. However, upon request to transfer room they immediately obliged. Unfortunately, a downgrade from my booked room due to unavailability.

  My grandson and I stayed overnight there and even though it was a quick stay as we had to catch an early morning flight it was relaxing and the staff made sure we had a wake up call and taxi cab waiting to take us to the airport. The breakfast was very over the top and delicious. I would recommend the Fairfield Inn and Suites of Bismarck South to my friends and family.
