  The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room offered plenty of space to stretch out to work and relax. Had a single issue with the in-room ice maker that couldn't get resolved but the staff made sure we had ice when needed. The best part, the great room and staff came at a very, very reasonable price. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Bismarck.

  Good things: Good location with reasonable prices, no breakfast provided but there are some dining options nearby. Free laundry is a plus. Room is clean. Not so good: Got a room next to elevator and the constant noise all day is very annoying. Room keeper kept bugging you for house keeping service from 9am in morning on the check out day when there is Do Not Disturb on the door, feels like they don't really want you to stay there.

  Very comfortable, had everything you might need. But coffee maker was broken, and the hotel didn't have a room with 2x queen beds despite us booking this online. Seems there was some sort of mixup. As a result, we were offered a room that had a king and a pullout bed. This worked okay for us but we had to wait around for 1hr for this room to be generally cleaned for us since it wasn't ready for use. This was a big pain since we were tired and had been driving for hours. The receptionist was very nice and tried to be accommodating. She was working by herself with no extra help so I felt bad for her since this was not a problem she was likely responsible for. Room smelled a little musty but the beds were comfy. I love how candlewood suits has the ability to cook and have a mini fridge. Super useful for in the morning if you have food with you and want to make yourself breakfast.

  Room was great, Comfortable beds and pillows, kitchen had all utensils needed. Nice patio area with grills. Conveniently close to stores. Would only suggest the staff be more prompt with cleaning services. It took me asking 4 times for someone to finally come in. Hotel manager Amy was awesome.

  We had a great stay. The room was clean and ready for us when we checked in. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The only issue we had was the hairdryer was not in the room. The staff quickly gave us one.

  I will definitely stay at this hotel if I'm in town again. Very clean. Up to date rooms that are comfortable with plenty of space. Polite staff made me feel welcome and were very efficient checking me in.

  There wasn’t any bar soaps available for washing hands. In this time of Covid this is unacceptable. The garbage can in the bathroom was not emptied from the previous guests. The ice maker didn’t make more than six cubes. There were pieces of food on the floor underneath the table/desk. There was a stain on the recliner. There was a bar sticking out underneath the mattress pad. Clearly the staff here doesn’t take the safety guidelines seriously. We will never stay here again.

  We were traveling West and stayed 2 nights. Front desk clerk was so helpful. Room was very clean and needs comfortable. Free coffee in lobby was a bonus as I don't always like to make it. Great experience.

  This was a great hotel and I would stay again! Only issues were:The elevator was broke I was on the 3rd floor. Also my toilet wouldn't quit running. I told the lady at the front desk when I was leaving that I had this issued, when I returned they hadn't fixed it. I fixed it myself at 12:30 am. The cleanliness was great though. I always worry when a hotel allows pets what it will be like but this place cleans very well.

  I had two rooms reserved. One room was dirty, floors were full of dirt, chips, and other items. It is obvious the room has not been cleaned in a while. Bed sheets looked clean. The bathroom shower was dirty. The other room was not vacuumed and there was trash in the trash cans from previous guests.

  The room we stayed in was quiet and fairly large. I liked the reclining chair. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was decent size and had everything you would need (ex: body wash, shampoo, conditioner, makeup removal wipes, etc.) The kitchen was stocked with plates, bowls, and cups. The only problem I had was the hallway on the second floor smelled like cigarette smoke. Overall, my experience at this hotel was a 10 out of 10 and I would recommend it to anyone.

  Top notch stay at this hotel for 13 weeks. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I highly recommend this hotel. Great cupboard food choices, very comfy beds, and clean! They even offered to walk my dogs for me while I was at work. Awesome place!

  Room was not clean at all, bath tub was full of hair, shower curtain was filthy , finger nail clippings on the night stand, no towels of any sort in the room, was told by the manager that she only had 2 housekeepers over the weekend to clean 100 rooms they rushed obviously as the way my room looked me my parents room I’ve been a head housekeeper of a candle wood for over 6 years and a previous head housekeeper for over 4 years! This room would of failed massively and I would not of let anyone update to clean in the system! Will not stay here again

  We enjoyed the Candlewood Suite room we stayed in. The lobby is not very large so we were concerned what the room size would be like. But, we were very pleased with the room. The only complaint was that the compressor in the refrigerator/freezer would kick in and stay on for a while before shutting off and it was very noisy. The cleaning crew did a good job in preparing the room -- very clean bedding and towels.

  One of the cheaper prices/better value across Bismarck. Stay was decent. Only critique is the pillows were flat, so not the most comfortable sleep arrangement. All in all, I would recommend the property.

  We enjoyed our stay (4 days). It suited our needs perfectly. We were able to cook meals in our room. ( A few more dishes/glasses and silverware would have been nice to have, we had 2 of everything). We will be back again. Beds were comfy.

  The hotel itself was nice. If you’re traveling with kids, this is not the hotel for you. They don’t have a pool or breakfast. When we arrived in Bismarck, we needed two rooms and when I called, I was told there wasn’t any rooms. Was able to book online as soon as we hung up and was able to check in. Location is good.

  We arrived at the hotel and were given the wrong room. When confronting the front office I was told that I booked a king suite and with 8 people staying. As if I didn’t get the amount of people and the type of suite I needed. Imagine 8 people in one bed plus a pull out couch. I can’t book one room for 8 people the IHG website won’t allow it. 5 is the maximum and 5 is the number of guests I booked. Two queen and pull out couch suite is what was on my reservation information email and IHG website. But by the time it got to their computer it was changed to 8 people in one bed (plus couch) but that’s my fault. However, we got moved to a two queen bed no suite room. Oh well they did the best to remedy the problem.

  I made it very clear before checking in that I would need a receipt for work expenses and that I wouldn’t use my points for the room if that was an issue. The front desk guysaid he was new and would have a more experienced desk person email it. I get a call four hours later from the most unprofessional women telling me it can’t be done but I still need a receipt so I ask if I can book another room and pay for it? Apparently no you have to be in person to book a room.

  First time staying at this particular chain. It was a pleasant surprise. Full size fridge with freezer was nice even for a short stay. The room was clean and spacious. The larger pillows were a treat compared to the small ones most hotels are offering these days. The temp control on the wall is nice to regulate the room as opposed to the dial on the unit itself. The location was close to lots of stores if you want to go for an evening walk to shop or eat.

  Rooms were modern and cleanly. Kitchen was equipped with all things necessary to prepare meals. Bed was comfortable and water for shower was at any temperature you would want it.   The front door which is automatic screeches when it opens . . . Maybe some Lithium grease or rubbing a bar of soap on the tracks would help. That is the first thing you experience when you walk into your building it DOES NOT give you a warm fuzzy feeling it makes you rethink your choice of staying at this hotel.   Enjoyed stay! Loved the pillows on bed! Slept well! Loved having complimentary guest laundry. Staff was friendly upon arrival and checkout. Rooms are great, but they do need some updating. As gold member, I did not expect to get a room facing a construction site to be woke up early morning hours. Workout room was not kept tidy and out of towels. I was also disappointed not to have complimentary breakfast as I have grown accustomed to free breakfasts at most hotels now. I also feel that housekeeping should bring fresh towels daily.

Dust on the top edge of the shower fixture, but honestly only tall people could see it. Bathroom fan always on with the light, which is probably okay with business travellers which this hotel appears to cater to (pool was apparently closed), but could bother spouses. Because the bathroom fan was "always on" it had collected a fair amount of dust and debris. But it was so high that the cleaning people probably couldn't reach it. No restaurant in the hotel, but several within a short walking distance. For the kids they have an area where games and some entertainment is available, along with some random things like jumper cables. If one gets hungry for a snack, they have a tiny shop with juice, soda, trail mix and the like. The stay was worth what we paid, just not a lot of extras.

  Had a great stay. Easy check in and out. Room was very clean, love the large body soap, shampoo and conditioners. Did not have to worry if had enough or having to use my own. Beds are very comfortable and I’m very picky. The front desk lady “Rose” was awesome, so sweet and helpful. Hoping this will be my new place of stay upon visiting Bismarck from now on.

  Showers need more pressure. Don't stay here if you have medium to long hair you won't get the soap out. They need to check the drains in shower for plugging up and not draining correctly.

  I stayed for 3 months for work and Kristin made me feel at home right away! I enjoyed getting to know the staff and they made my dog and I feel like family. They also were flexible with my house keeping as I worked nights. It was quiet during the day and night to sleep as a nurse! The only thing missing is a continental breakfast to make this perfect.

  We stayed one night traveling through to our destination. The place was pretty new so everything looked fresh and clean. Beds were comfortable and the room was large. If you are ever given room 213, ask for it to be changed as you will hear everytime the front door opens and closes.

  I specifically called hotels looking to ensure they follow cdc guidelines for my family’s safety. The front desk confirmed oh yes of course all of them. After 17 hours in a car we arrive to Caroline not wearing a mask, notes that say they’re short staffed and don’t have enough towels for 2 people in the room to shower. I couldn’t believe the staff didn’t wear mask, but was assured when she checked in the next person she didn’t. They don’t take it seriously and that is disgusting. Don’t tell guests one thing and not abide by it. The room above us was loud and partied all night. Hotel was not full enough to not spread people out. Disappointed and disgusted.

  We needed a room prior to an early morning medical appointment. We have stayed in several other local hotels for the same reason since we live about 4 hours away. We chose the Candlewood Suites based on best price and good online reviews. We were not disappointed! Our room was clean, spacious and I’ve yet to sleep in a more comfortable hotel bed! The front desk personnel were great. The location is perfect for our doctor’s office. We’ll be back!

  I've travelled extensively for both Business and pleasure over the past several years. This hotel has offered me the most consistent, comfortable, affordable, and CLEANEST rooms I've encountered. The staff is wonderful! While in Bismarck, I had several questions on area attractions, directions, and so forth, and individuals of this staff go out of their way to accomodate. If they didn't know--they looked it up for me. When I wanted to cook a pizza, they provided me with a toaster oven. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean, and refreshing after a long day of work. It really felt like "home" there. I was treated with respect, and not in that usual "plastic-face" way most other hotel staffs do. The Management should be commended for having such a wonderful staff. Everyone there, and I do mean everyone was so willing to be helpful. The exercise room was clean, with modern equipment. I could just rave on and on about this hotel, but see it for yourself. You certainly won't be disappointed. This is a great place to stay, whether for a night, a week, or a month.

  I was very impressed at how nice the room was and that a full kitchen was included. I was able to cook like I do at home and enjoyed the flexibility. I was very disappointed at at poor the beds were. At first the beds seemed fairly comfortable, yet in the morning I was extremely stiff and in pain. Talking woke me up at night. There were also hairs on the pillows and bedding, I thought were disgusting. There was shaved hair dried onto the shower curtain in the bathtub and interesting stains on the shower curtain too (as well as one of the pillows). I really wanted to like this hotel because everything seemed so simple and basic to fit my needs (it was like a little apartment instead of a hotel), but the cleanliness issues and uncomfortable bed ruined my experience.

  We really enjoyed our stay at the Candlewood Suites in Bismarck. We especially appreciated the kitchen and large bath. While Candlewood Suites doesn't offer a free breakfast, the kitchen that includes a stovetop and full fridge allowed us to have breakfast in our room at our leisure. The beds were comfortable and pillows were plentiful. We were even able to borrow some cards from the front desk to play in our room. I would definitely consider staying again next time.

  I was very impressed with check-in and the set up of the room. Was disappointed to see stains on the sheets and comforter,and a fork left in the sink. The bathroom was nice but when I went to wash my face there was so much beard hair on one wash cloth and the other was stained. Other than these things I would have given my stay a 10.

  Rooms were good size to let the kids run around. Had a desk instead of table but was big enough to use as a table. Recliner was very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were just like the cover had said either soft or firm, they also had 4 pillows per bed.

  I have been doing a lot of traveling lately for my side job and visitng family/friends and the experience I had here was the best I have had any where. The hotel rooms were amazing, the beds.....i want to own one of their beds they are that awesome. I would say steal, but that is a crime. If you are looking for a hotel that does everything except continental breakfast, this is the place. Even though they do not have breakfast, there are plenty of restaurants close by to choose from.

  As a business travler I don't ususally stay at a hotel geared toward long-term stays but having said that, I think Candlewood Suites can do better. When I entered this hotel, I looked very utilitarian. On display were supplies including sheets, towels, cleaning supplies, etc. There was nobody at the front counter to greet me. No bigge, but it is the little things that make the difference. Lots of pet (barking) and other guest noise in the hotel. I'm guessing not a lot was spent on insulation. Close to the freeway but not close to downtown. This could be either good or bad. Rooms are only cleaned once a week. I didn't see that when I made my reservation. No problem, but just soemthing you should be aware of. Overall an ok place --- but for the money, there are better places to stay.

  The Bismarck Candlewood Suites is a nice property which we spent two nights. The front desk staff was wonderful and made our check-in really painless. Room was nice to include the kitchenette and beds were really comfortable. I was disappointed that the housekeeping staff did not come to clean our room or change out towels. Other than that, this is a nice place to stay.

  I travel for work frequently and the Candlewood is always my preferred place to stay. The front desk staff and management (Dustin, Jeanette) are amazing and treat you like family. The rooms are huge, have a desk, full size fridge, microwave stocked with popcorn and the sheets and towels are soft and fluffy. Best of all, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. I have always had a good night's sleep with no banging doors or running up and down the hallways. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Best hotel in Bismarck, no question!

  This was my first experience of staying in a Candlewood Suites hotel and, I must say, I was quite impressed with the accommodations. I used my IHG Rewards Club points to book the room. My wife and I were recognized as Platinum IHGRC members and offered free refreshments from "the cupboard" upon check-in. The staff was very friendly. The room was huge and furnished quite well. It was clean and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. I could see why a business person or someone with an extended stay would want to stay here. Our room overlooked the patio in back where we observed folks cooking out on the furnished grills, another nice feature. There is a restaurant within walking distance where we had a very pleasant dining experience. I would not hesitate to stay at this Candlewood Suites in the future and highly recommend it to others.

  Hotel mixed my reservation on my check out day, after my stay for two nights, and accused me using someone credit card to book a room, which I don’t have any idea how that happened, but they realised they made mistakes but instead of apologising for the mistake they did they kicked me out of the hotel with three police.   I should have called before booking to confirm there wasn't a pool when the pictures showed a pool and hot tub. Also I just took it for granted there would be a continental breakfast. We stay in hotels quite a few times a year and this is the first one we encountered that serves nothing without having a restaurant in the building. Otherwise the place was very clean and beds comfortable and staff was friendly.

  Decided to stay in Bismarck at the last minute. As an IHG rewards member the reservation process and check in was easy with no issues. The hotel itself was nice, the room was comfortable. There a very unpleasant smell on my floor that hit me as soon as the elevator door opened but luckily the smell didn't enter my room. The only other thing was the parking lot was pretty icy but that's to be expected in North Dakota.

  Everything was nice, new, clean, good location except there were no ice machines. The rooms have refrigerators with ice makers but they are turned off when you arrive, ( no ice. ) I turned on the icemaker and only 4 ice cubes were made during my entire stay. I would not stay there again for that reason.

  The staff here is phenomenal. They always go out of their way to accomodate me and to try to help improve my experience. The upgrade to the one bedroom suite gave me the needed space to set up my office on the road and to even run several meetings from my room. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. I have stayed in a few hotels around town just to see what is out there and I will never do that again as the Candlewood offered so many conveniences over competitors that I see no reason to ever stay anywhere else.

  Good rates, clean rooms and the friendliest front desk staff. We had a late incoming flight (midnight) and were worried about our room not being held.   I'm impressed with this property. I do not hesitate to recommend it and will hope to stay there again if I need lodging in the area again. This is a pet friendly hotel but you would not guess there were animals allowed unless you actually saw one. The rooms have absolutely no animal odor. The suite was exceptionally clean, well appointed, the kitchen highly functional and well stocked with utensils. The towels. The best. Stay there. You'll like it.

  This was not my first time here. I work at length on the road and this is the one hotel that is the most like home in the area. The staff is always friendly, the hotel is always cleaned, and the coffee is delicious lol. Really though, for extended stays this is the best value and best hotel in the Bismarck area. This was my 12th time in the area so I’ve tried a lot of places.

  Modern hotel with nice room layout at a reasonable price. Comparable to cost of a standard room at other hotels (actually even less than standard rooms at many hotels). So nice to have a modern kitchen with a full-size fridge/freezer. Located in north Bismarck next to Wal-Mart. Short drive to many restaurants. My main issue is I didn't receive the room I booked (given king suite with sofa bed rather than 2 queens). Also, the king suite bedroom only has a fan in the wall adjacent to the living room AC. Would have been nice to have AC in the bedroom as well. Despite these issues, I enjoyed my stay and would stay again. In fact, I plan to make this my new regular hotel for trips to Bismarck. Hopefully the issue of not receiving the type of room booked can be resolved.

  This facility is a very good well kept property and I have stayed here several times annually during my trip across N.Dakota. They have always provided a great experience and since the hotel is set up for extended stay business people the room service is weekly rather than daily, which works well for my short stay and allows me to get a great nights sleep and stay at an IHG property at a weekly rate. I have always had a great experience in the several times I have stayed at this property and I would recommend it. The only thing I saw that would possibly be an issue is that the pool has apparently been closed for a period of time.

  Pros: Spacious rooms. The kitchens are a blessing to those who utilize them. Cons: Key cards deactivated on two separate occasions. Sewage smell in hallway. Only two of the six people I interacted with behind the desk were friendly and professional. Only one handicap room (so I was told) in the hotel has a "walk-in" shower for wheelchair use.

  The hotel staff was excellent! All staff members we spoke with were very helpful and polite. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Our only complaints were a stain on one of our sheets and something sticky on the coffee cups in the cupboard, things that could easily be remedied.

  After spending three previous nights at questionable properties (one of which we refused to stay the second night), we were a little anxious to arrive at a property we had never stayed at before … Candlewood. From the minute we walked into the lobby until our checkout one week later, we could not have been more pleased. Absolutely spotless! The lady who checked us in welcomed us with a smile and a friendly hello. I was very impressed with her people skills and wanted our comfort and needs to be met. We now will stay at a Candlewood property every chance we get.

  The room was not clean at all. My wife refused to go in the bathroom until I cleaned it. The sink/tub was full of long hairs. The shower curtain had poop or similar material on it. It was disgusting. We would have left but it was really late and we were traveling with a small child. Also our reservation was messed up and confirmation was never received even though it was requested.

  Easy in and out off of highway; coffee shop and a pretty good restaurant right close by. The staff was friendly. I slept well in a very comfortable bed. I did not find the free coffee, and would rather have a breakfast included, but that is probably why the price is more competitive than a comparable/sister Holiday Inn Express. Overall a pretty good stay for the money. The lobby was full of several oil field service workers who were loud and drinking beer, but I understand that. They also tracked in a lot of mud which someone had to keep cleaning up, but the staff did a nice job of keeping it clean.

  Room was ok but was disappointed that I had to track down housekeeping as there were no towels in the room when I arrived. When I checked in, I was told there was a towel shortage and may need to call someone to get some.   Candlewood Suites Bismarck was one of the best properties my husband and I have stayed. The convenience of the location and the amenities near by sure made our stay feel like home. Not to mention amazing pillows! We never feel like we forgot something when staying at a Candlewood Suites and love having the option cook our own meals in our room.   The overall experience to this Hotel was very good. I liked that it's not on a busy street to enter or exit and the stores and eating establishments in the area are very welcoming.   My extended stay at Candlewood Suites in Bismarck, ND was excellent. It is located close to I-94 and a variety of restaurants and retail stores. Room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Staff was pleasant and reacted quickly to the few issues I brought to their attention. I recommend this location to anyone who is in need of an extended stay hotel.
